CCCBCA Announces 2012 Inductees

 

Rod Beilby - Cosumnes River College & Yuba College

Rod Beilby was a very successful baseball coach at Cosumnes River College. In his eight years Rod's teams won three Bay Valley Conference Championships with five consecutives play-off appearances. Under his leadership 44 of his players transferred and played at a four year    colleges. One former CRC player is Jermaine Dye who played 14 years in the Major Leagues and won a World Series MVP and was an All-Star twice. He has 23 former players who have continued on in coaching at the high school and/or collegiate levels.

Since going in to athletic administration at Yuba College in 1995, Rod has been the BVC baseball rep for 16 years. He also served on the CCCBCA Executive Committee as the Management Council Sports Representative for six years. He has been awarded as the Athletic Director of the year and is currently the President of the CCCCA, a group of sports association presidents.

Rod has truely had a positive impact on our game.

 

 

 

Warren Brusstar - Napa Valley College

 

 

Warren Brusstar played at Napa Valley College in 1971. He transferred to Fresno State and then signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. He spent nine years in the majors with the Phillies, White Sox, and Cubs. He won a World Series ring with the Phillies in 1980.

Warren has dedicated his life after his playing career to helping kids, of all ages, to become better pitchers.
He has participated in countless baseball camps/clinics in the Napa Valley area. He has been envolved in the Napa Little League and the Cal Ripken Baseball organizations. He has worked with all three local high schools and has worked through Fielder's Choice School of Baseball to assist young pitchers.

Warren has also been the pitching coach at Napa Valley College on two occasions.  He worked with head coach Matt Stewart from 1987 - 1994. He returned in 2007, after working with Phillies minor league teams, to assist Bob Freschi. Coach Brusstar has indeed given back to the community that fostered him. 

 

 

 

 

Paul Moore - Mt. San Jacinto College & Ohlone College

 

 

Paul Moore has been head coach at both MSJC and Ohlone College. 30 years of a 37 year coaching career were spent at the community college level. He took both colleges to the State Championships in his time with them. He finished second with MSJC in 1981 and third with Ohlone in 2004. 

During his time at MSJC, Coach Moore was the conference representative for the Desert Conference, Inland Valley Conference and Foothill Conference, eight years total. He also served as a conference rep for the Coast Conference while at Ohlone College. In all Paul served as a conference rep for 23 years.

In June of 2006 Paul became president of the CCCBCA, a position he still holds.
