TRAVIS ANDERSON
Travis followed up his outstanding freshman year with a sophomore campaign that earned him Unanimous All-Golden Valley Conference honors. The captain of the Roadrunners, Travis hit .315 on the year including 9 doubles and 2 triples with an on base percentage of .386. His 4 home runs and 12 stolen bases were 2nd best in the conference and his 46 total hits and 29 RBI’s were the 3rd highest in the conference. Roaming the Butte College Centerfield, Travis recorded 81 put outs and 2 assists without committing an error. His defensive play was recognized as the conference Gold Glove winner. Travis was also selected to the Golden Valley Conference All-Academic Team for his efforts in the classroom. Travis will continue his playing career at Fresno Pacific University, an NCAA Division II school in the PacWest Conference.
TEVIN CADOLA
Tevin was the ace of the dominant Roadrunner pitching staff. Compiling a 9-2 record, Tevin finished the season with a 1.94 era allowing 20 earned runs while walking 24 hitters in 93.0 innings. His 5 complete games was the second most in the state. Tevin tallied 92 strike outs good for third highest strike outs in the state. Tevin was voted Co-MVP of the Golden Valley Conference. He also earned CCCBCA Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of March 21st-March 27th. Tevin signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his career at San Jose State University, an NCAA Division I school in the Mountain West Conference.
JUSTIN McMURTREY
Justin proved to be a dangerous arm in the Roadrunner rotation for the second consecutive year. The sophomore from Redding, California earned a 9-2 record tying the conference lead in wins. Justin posted a 3.56 era allowing just 31 earned runs off 77 hits. Most impressively, Justin walked only 7 batters in 78.1 innings. Justin was named as a First Team All-Conference Pitcher. Justin was also selected to the Golden Valley Conference All-Academic Team for his efforts in the classroom. Next year, Justin will continue his playing career at Eastern Michigan University, an NCAA Division I school in the Mid-American Conference.
ALEC BARBA
Alec was a valuable asset to the success of the 2016 Roadrunners. Alec served as a leader and mentor to a young Roadrunner team. The infielder posted a .911 fielding percentage and a .270 batting average over his career at Butte College. This includes a four hit day against College of the Siskiyous on April 7 where Alec was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. Alex was also selected to the Golden Valley Conference All-Academic Team for his efforts in the classroom. Alec will attend the University of Pikeville, a NAIA school in the Mid-South Conference, and continue his playing career.
JACKSON MURPHY
Jackson was a weapon for the Roadrunner offense. A staple in the front of the lineup, Jackson hit .296 over 125 at bats including a conference best 14 doubles, 1 triple, and his 4 home runs were the second most in the conference. His .520 slugging percentages was the 3rd best in the conference. Jackson’s stellar play resulted in him being selected as a Unanimous First Team All-Conference outfielder. Jackson was also selected to the Golden Valley Conference All-Academic Team for his efforts in the classroom. Jackson will be attending Academy of Art University, a NCAA DII school in the PacWest Conference.
