NORCAL Players of the Week!

February 4th, 2015

Nick McGrew - West Valley

West Valley SS Nick McGrew has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Player of the Week for the week of January 27th–February 1st, it was announced on Tuesday

Nick is a sophomore out of Valley Christian High School in San Jose, CA.  His senior year he led Valley Christian to a CCS Championship. Nick went 10-15 (.667) with 2 doubles, 7 runs scored, 6 RBI, and 3 SB's. Nick also played excellent defense at SS leading the Vikings to a 2-1 start.

McGrew is the first Viking to earn CCCBCA Player of the Week honors. 

 

 

 

 

Nick Risucci - Taft College

Taft College RHP Nick Risucci has been named the the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of January 27th –February 1st, it was announced on Tuesday.

On Thursday's "opening day" vs Solano College, Risucci threw 8 innings allowing 1 hit and facing only 1 over the minimum. In his 8 innings of work he only threw 70 pitches while striking out 4 Falcon hitters and walked no one.

Nick is the first Cougar to earn CCCBCA Pitcher of the Week honors.
