Daniel Pitts - Long Beach

Long Beach City College freshman right fielder Daniel Pitts had an impressive week at the plate and helped lead the Vikings to a 3-0 record. Pitts, out of Quartz Hill High School near Lancaster, batted .643 during the week. He went 9 for 14 with 7 RBI, 6 runs, 1 double, and a stolen base. LBCC has won four straight games and is 5-2 overall.

Anthony Esparza - Glendale College

Anthony Esparza, Sophomore catcher from Alemany HS, went 6 for 10 this week as he helped Glendale College win three straight games including the Conference opener. Esparza had multiple hit games vs. Saddleback (2for2) and LA Valley (3for4). Esparza quarterbacked the Vaquero pitching staff to allowing 3 unearned runs during the winning streak. In the 20 innings Esparza spent behind the plate this week he threw out 2 runners attempting to steal and allowed 0 stolen bases. Esparza is hitting .476 on the season.
