Anthony Calton - Mendocino

Mendocino College player Anthony Calton has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 1st –April 7th, it was announced on Tuesday.

Calton has been on a tear this season.  The freshmen centerfielder out of Reno, NV is hitting .430, with a slugging percentage of .748, and has 31 RBI.  This week was no different.  In three games the left-handed hitter was 5 for 11 with 3 runs scored, a double, two home runs, and a total of 7 RBI’s, as he helped Mendocino go 2-1 on the week and stay on track in the Bay Valley Conference.  

 

 

Eric Gleese - Ohlone

Ohlone College sophomore RHP Eric Gleese has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 1st –April 7th, it was announced on Tuesday.

The Tracy, CA native threw a shutout against Cabrillo College on Saturday April 6th, striking out 7, allowing only 5 hits.  Gleese (6’2, 220) is currently 5-1 on the season with a 2.25 ERA and has only given up 3 earned runs in his last 23 innings.  In conference play, Eric is 3-0 with 22 K, 10 BB and a 1.21 ERA. 

Eric is the first Renegade to earn CCCBCA Pitcher of the Week honors.
