Ventura College Transfers

Ventura College Baseball is proud to announce the transfers of 8 players from the 2013 squad. The Pirates program will send three players to the NCAA Division 1 level, 1 player to the NCAA Division 2 level and 4 more players will continue their careers playing at the NAIA level. The Pirate players transferring onto the next level are as follows: 

Hayden Cronenbold RS SO SS was named the WSC-North Gold Glove SS and selected as the defensive player of the year for the WSC-North and was up for the ABCA/Rawlings Pacific West Gold Glove honor will be attending  Oklahoma State University (NCAA Division 1) next year 

Jarred Patterson SO 2b/CF was a 2nd team All WSC-North selection in 2013 and named the conferences Gold Glove CF, in 2012 Patterson was honored as a 1st team All-WSC-North IF and was selected as a 2013 Pre-Season All American by the CCCBCA will be Chicago State University (NCAA Division 1) next year 

Wesley Solomon RS SO OF was the leading hitter in California JC baseball at the end of the regular season with a .426 average and was selected as a unanimous 1st team All-WSC North performer, as well was selected as an All-American in 2013 and was runner-up for the Big Stick Award for Offensive Player of the year has committed to University of California Santa Barbara (NCAA Division 1) next year 

Austin Mascorro RS So 2b was named 2nd team All-WSC North as an IF and was selected as the conferences Gold Glove 2b in 2011 he was a 1st team All-WSC North performer playing at Moorpark College before transferring to Ventura College for his final JC season when Moorpark suspended their baseball program has elected to attend Colorado State University Pueblo (NCAA Division 2) next year. 

Jacob Murray So RHP was a 2nd team All-WSC selection in 2013 as the Pirates number 1 starter one year after being awarded Honorable Mention honors in 2012 as the Pirates top reliever he has committed to attend Concordia University Irvine (NAIA) next year 

Matt Burke So C/OF was a 2 time Honorable Mention Selection for the Pirates in the WSC-North and will be attending Friends University (NAIA) next year 

Eric Contreras So 1b/DH was a 2 year starter for the Pirates and tied a school record when he drove in 6 runs in a single game his freshmen year against MT. SAC and then hit a walk off homerun off Oxnard College in the 13th inning against future 7th round draft pick Cody Kurz will be attending Dickinson State University (NAIA) next year. 

Drew Lutzke FR  C/1b was a part time player for the Pirates in 2013 and when the opportunity to receive full time playing time at Avila College (NAIA) next year presented itself Lutzke committed to become a four year college player for the 2014 campaign.
