Brendan Jenkins - Cuesta College

Preseason All American Right-hander Brendan Jenkins has now hurled 16 scoreless innings to begin 2016 after his earning second win of the season.  Jenkins, who set a Cuesta record with 37 consecutive scoreless innings last spring, authored a 3-hit shutout of 2015 CCCAA State Champion and current #1 team Orange Coast.   The Pirates collected their first two base-hits on back-to-back two-out singles in the second inning, however both runners were stranded by one of Jenkins' career-high nine strikeouts.  Designated hitter Eric Wagaman led oft seventh inning with the Bucs' third safety, but was doubled up on the next play.  Jenkins faced only 30 Orange Coast batsmen on the day.
