Grady Caldwell - West Valley

West Valley College Grady Caldwell has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Player of the Week for the week of March 4^th –March 10^th, it was announced on Tuesday.

The 6’1 215 lb. first-baseman from The Kings Academy was 5-11, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 runs, 1 BB, 8 RBI.  Grady led West Valley to a 3-0 week capped off with a walk off grand slam to bring the Vikings back from down 4-1 to a 5-4 win.

Caldwell is the second Viking to earn CCCBCA Player of the Week honors. Teammate Tyler Kiefer was selected in week one. 

Jacob Phillips - West Hills

West Hills College RHP Jacob Phillips has been named the the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 4^th –March 10^th, it was announced on Tuesday.

Jacob Phillips pitched a complete game shutout over 10th-ranked College of the Sequoias to give West Hills College two consecutive wins over the Giants last week. Phillips, a sophomore from Fresno, allowed four hits, walked just one, and struck out 10 Giants in the 8-0 victory.  He is now 3-1 on the year. West Hills has now won five of their last six games and plays Reedley in a three-game series this week.

Phillips is the first Falcon to earn CCCBCA Pitcher of the Week honors.
