Grady Caldwell - West Valley

West Valley College Grady Caldwell has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Player of the Week for the week of March 4th –March 10th, it was announced on Tuesday.

The 6’1 215 lb. first-baseman from The Kings Academy was 5-11, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 runs, 1 BB, 8 RBI.  Grady led West Valley to a 3-0 week capped off with a walk off grand slam to bring the Vikings back from down 4-1 to a 5-4 win.

Caldwell is the second Viking to earn CCCBCA Player of the Week honors. Teammate Tyler Kiefer was selected in week one. 

 

Jacob Phillips - West Hills

West Hills College RHP Jacob Phillips has been named the the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 4th –March 10th, it was announced on Tuesday.

Jacob Phillips pitched a complete game shutout over 10th-ranked College of the Sequoias to give West Hills College two consecutive wins over the Giants last week. Phillips, a sophomore from Fresno, allowed four hits, walked just one, and struck out 10 Giants in the 8-0 victory.  He is now 3-1 on the year. West Hills has now won five of their last six games and plays Reedley in a three-game series this week.

Phillips is the first Falcon to earn CCCBCA Pitcher of the Week honors.
