Cody Nulph, team leader on the State Champion Orange Coast College baseball team has been selected as the Susan L. Moore scholarship winner. The scholarship is awarded to a team member who participates in the state championship tournament and has overcome a hardship with grace.

At a young age Cody lost his father. He has dealt with that and shown personal toughness, accountability, great work ethic and is a team first player. His love of playing was evident throughout the tournament.

Here is what his coach at Orange Coast, John Altobelli, said about Cody:

“Cody is what every successful team needs. He is a quiet leader who works hard everyday on the field and in the classroom. He plays the game the right way. He hustles, gets dirty, respects his opponents and the game itself. He earned his A.A degree after attending Pepperdine his freshman year and has earned a scholarship to Auburn University for next year. He has all the characteristics and ethics of a young man that I hope one day my daughters would marry.”

Congratulations Cody! The CCCBCA wishes you great success at Auburn University.
