BIG 8 CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK- CONNOR SEMONE, DELTA COLLEGE
The BIG 8 Conference is pleased to announced that Connor Semone, a right-handed pitcher from Delta College has been named the Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 6th. Semone, a 6’5” sophomore from Central Catholic High School threw 8 innings on Tuesday at American River College. He allowed just one run on 5 hits over the 8 innings, striking out 9 and not walking anyone. It was his first victory of the season.
BIG 8 CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK- MATEO GARCIA, DELTA COLLEGE
Mateo Garcia, a freshman utility player from San Joaquin Delta College has been named the BIG 8 Conference Player of the Week. Garcia played 3B and RF in leading the Mustangs to a three game sweep over American River College. He was 8x12 with a pair of doubles and 7 RBI in the three games. The freshman from Pitman High School is hitting .486 on the season which is 3rd in the state.
