| September 18, 2017 It was recently announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) that the 2016-17 Riverside City College baseball team received the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award by holding a team grade-point-average of 3.05.
The Tigers were one of 11 community college teams to earn this award and one of only three California community colleges to reel in the honor.
Last season, Riverside saw 18 student-athletes sign National Letters of Intent to attend a four-year university. Four of those players earned Division I scholarships.
While excelling in the classroom, Riverside put together a great season on the diamond. The Tigers finished second in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) with an overall record of 29-13 and a conference mark of 15-6.
