PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
DIEGO MORAN - DIABLO VALLEY COLLEGE
Freshman RHP Diego Moran from Diablo Valley College has been awarded the BIG 8 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 5th. Moran, who hails from Alhambra, CA threw a complete game gem in defeating Northern California power Santa Rosa JC last Thursday. Moran threw all 9 innings, allowing just 2 hits- none after the 2nd inning, and just one run while striking out 12.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
JACK TOMLINSON - DELTA COLLEGE
The BIG 8 Conference has named Jack Tomlinson from Delta College as its Player of the Week for the week ending March 5th. Tomlinson, a 2nd year freshman from Gilroy led the Mustangs to an impressive sweep over pre-season #1 Sierra College. In the three game set Tomlinson, an outfielder and the 2 hitter for the Mustangs, had a pair of home runs (one from each side of the plate) and a triple for 10 RBI and he scored 8 runs.
