Joey Dodson - Solano College

Solano College outfielder Joey Dodson has been named the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Player of the Week for the week of March 2nd –March 8th, it was announced on Tuesday.

Joey was 6x12 last week, with 6 walks (12x18 OB), 7 runs, & 6 stolen bases. This table setter was a key component to the Falcons 3-0 week, including a 2 game sweep of #10 Folsom Lake College.


Dodson is the first Falcon to earn CCCBCA Player of the Week honors. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mateo Fernandez - Napa Valley College

Napa Valley College LHP Mateo Fernandez has been named the the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association’s (CCCBCA) baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 2nd –March 8th, it was announced on Tuesday.

Fernandez had a dominating performance in pitching a No Hitter in facing the minimum 27 batters vs Mendocino College in a 5-0 victory.  The leadoff hitter in the 5th reached on an error by the 2B, struck out the next guy, then induced an inning ending double-play.   Mateo threw 81 pitches, 62 of them for strikes!...He struck out 9 batters. “Mateo had a good live fastball that was cutting and sinking and a great slider! Just an unbelievable performance from the Lefty”

Mateo is the second Storm player to earn CCCBCA Pitcher of the Week honors. Austin Barlow was selected for the Week of February 9th –February 15th.
