Butte takes the series with Feather River with a weekend split

Feather River 5, Butte 2

The Butte Roadrunners fell behind early, surrendering runs in the first and third innings. They cut into the deficit in the fifth when Ryan Pimentel doubled and later scored on a throwing error by Grant McGuire. Butte's offense remained quiet until the eighth, when Drew Carrington launched a solo home run to make it 4-2. However, that was the last offensive spark for the Roadrunners. On the mound, Brayden Bruno provided a bright spot, throwing 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

With the series tied heading into the final game, the Roadrunners responded in a big way. Leadoff hitter Grant Sonke opened the game with a double, and a sacrifice bunt by Carter Imbach moved him to third. After an error allowed Luke Zuromski to reach base, Jason Olsen delivered the game's biggest swing—a three-run homer to give Butte an early lead. Feather River answered with a run in the bottom of the first, but that would be their only scoring of the day.

Butte added insurance runs in the later innings, capitalizing on key two-out hits. In the seventh, Pimentel singled and advanced to third on an error before Aiden Robles drove him in with a double. The Roadrunners struck again in the eighth when Aiden Santos walked, Sonke laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Zuromski doubled to bring home the final run.

On the mound, Mason Ali was dominant, pitching seven innings while allowing just five hits and no walks. Grent Gallegos closed out the game with two perfect innings to secure the win.

With the victory, Butte took the series 3-2, giving them the edge if both teams finish tied in the standings. The Roadrunners now turn their focus to a two-game series against College of the Siskiyous before a crucial matchup with Lassen College on April 11-12.
