The DH for Delta, Grant MacArthur, had a massive opening round of the playoffs against Taft. He went 9 for 11 in the two games, with 5 extra base hits for 17 total bases. He drove in 8 runs in the two games and came around to score 8 more times. He was on base almost every time he came up, which was exemplified by his .833 on base percentage in the series. He edged out several hitters who had impressive opening rounds of the playoffs.

Sam Frizzi, the sophomore right hander, came out of the bullpen and absolutely dominated in an extra inning affair on Thursday. He threw the last 8 innings of the 16-inning contest to help his team secure a 9-5 victory over Modesto. Frizzi only allowed one hit and three walks while striking out 15 and earning the win. He allowed a putrid .042 batting average against on the day.
