Isaac Cruz, Ohlone College
Isaac Cruz, from Ohlone College has been selected as the Susan L. Moore Scholarship offered by the CCCBCA. The scholarship is based on four characteristics, work ethic, passion for the game, overcoming hardship(s) and being a “team guy”.
In three straight semesters Isaac has earned a 4.00. He is frequently the first player to the field and the last to leave. He clearly has a good work ethic. His passion for the game is evident in how hard he plays. He runs everything out. Takes nothing for granted. Isaac has been named the “Renegade” at Ohlone. This is an award given to the player who best embodies the values of the program. He is the only player to win the award as a freshman. His mother has raised him as a single parent. By the time Isaac was 13 years old his family had moved ten times. Isaac redshirted his first season and did not start until the 17th game of his freshman year. He has since started 69 consecutive games.
Isaac is a two time CCCBCA Academic All American and has been named to the Coast Conference Pacific Division All Conference team both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
